All’s Well that Ends Well

There are 2 weeks left of school. Our family is not handling it well! Maybe we’re the only ones, but we’re SO DONE! Every morning, Holly has been scrounging around trying to find $2.50 to avoid making Nora’s lunch. I wish her teacher would quit sending her notebook home for us to sign. And you can just forget homework!

I am so ready for school to be out for summer! Even though we are ready, we still have a few weeks left. We are having to make a concerted effort to help Nora finish 3rd grade well! This is such a stark contrast to how we started the year….new clothes, school supplies neatly in her backpack, early to school every day. Do you ever struggle with finishing well?

I am so guilty of starting new things with vigor, but halfway through, my passion wanes, and I give up completely or barely finish. We can be comforted that God does not work the way we do! Philippians 1:6 says, “…he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

God wants us to finish well! He is constantly working (even when we are not) to refine and perfect us. But, we DO have responsibility in this. If we give up before we get to the end, we lose out on the joy that comes with completing something well! I want to encourage you (and myself) in this.

2nd Timothy 4:7-8 says, “ 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

May we keep the faith & finish the race strong.

In Christ’s Service
